ISLAND TRIATHLON & BIKE OFFERING NEW BICYCLE SERVICE AND GEAR DISCOUNTS FOR HAWAII’S FIRST REPONDERS AND HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS

Bike stimulus rebates, tune-up and apparel discounts now available; additional specials for Hawaii’s frontline heroes during the COVID-19 pandemic

HONOLULU, May 18, 2020 – Island Triathlon & Bike (IT&B), Honolulu’s premier bicycle and triathlon supply dealer, is going the extra mile to recognize the tireless efforts of Hawaii’s first responders and medical professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic, and to support the exercise and commuting needs of Oahu’s cyclists. Today, IT&B announced new bicycle stimulus rebates, bike tune-up discounts and additional specials for Hawaii’s cyclists, especially those working on the frontlines.

IT&B has unveiled its Bicycle Stimulus Package, which is designed to make performance bikes more accessible during uncertain times. The Bicycle Stimulus Package consists of a 20% rebate on all special-order bicycle purchases at IT&B over $2,000.

IT&B has also announced new bike service specials. Proper bicycle maintenance is important to bike commuters and recreational riders alike. Because Oahu’s streets, roads and trails have seen an increase in bicycle traffic during Hawaii’s recent shelter-in-place orders, IT&B is offering discounted bicycle tune-up services. While significant service discounts are already in place for all customers, starting today, IT&B will offer an additional $10 discount on all bicycle tune-up services for first responders and medical professionals:

- Standard tune-up: $50 (normally $85)
- Elite tune-up: $90 (normally $150)
- Pro tune-up: $140 (normally $225)

These tune-up discounts are available to any police, fire, EMS and medical personnel in Hawaii who provide appropriate identification, such as a work badge.

All bike tune-ups are by appointment only. Service appointments can be scheduled by calling 808.732.7227.

“Many of our customers are first responders, doctors and nurses, and many of those customers bike to work every day,” said James K. Smith, president, IT&B. “We feel it’s important to thank and support Hawaii’s frontline workers any way we can. We have also seen an increase in recreational riders recently, as daily exercise has become more important during these relatively quiet times. Our Bicycle Stimulus Package is designed to help people meet their fitness goals and save money at the same time.”

In addition, IT&B recently launched a new online store providing the latest bicycle apparel and gear, including new cycling jerseys designed exclusively by IT&B for as little as $75 each.

Under the State of Hawaii’s measures to slow the spread of COVID-19, bicycle service and repair shops have been deemed essential businesses. As a result, the staff at IT&B is committed to providing the best service possible for its customers during these uncertain times.

Island Triathlon & Bike is open daily from 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm HST, closed Thursday and Sunday.
